Announced this November, his appointment marks an exciting new direction for the resort’s dining landscape.
Chef Ahmad’s career spans continents, from Indonesia to the Middle East and across Europe, where he sharpened his craft in prestigious hotels and Michelin-starred kitchens. His culinary philosophy is rooted in simplicity, letting ingredients speak for themselves while elevating their natural beauty with skill, intention, and minimal intervention. This approach reflects a modern, mindful way of cooking that aligns perfectly with Sofitel’s spirit of understated elegance and refined indulgence.
Before joining Sofitel Bali, Chef Ahmad led the culinary team at Sheraton Belitung Resort, and previously contributed to the celebrated dining experience at Bvlgari Resort Bali. His international journey also includes time in Copenhagen, where he worked at Hanzo Restaurant and the Michelin-starred Kiin Kiin Restaurant, further expanding his mastery of both classic techniques and contemporary gastronomy.
In his new role, Chef Ahmad will oversee all kitchen operations across the resort, guide menu innovation, and elevate the culinary identity of Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua.
