Cinco de Mayo Is About to Get Loud at Carbón Jakarta and Agave & Azul

Tacos, tequila, smoke, spice, and enough heat to carry the party through the week. MDA Restaurants is bringing the spirit of Cinco de Mayo to both Jakarta and Bali with a limited-time celebration happening at Carbón Jakarta and Agave & Azul from 1 to 8 May 2026.

At Carbón Jakarta, the kitchen goes all in on bold Mexican-inspired flavours with a lineup built for long tables and loud nights. The menu includes Shrimp Enchiladas layered with Oaxaca quesillo and ají verde, Chile Relleno con Queso served with chorizo and chipotle ranch, and a Sliders Flight packed with Baja fish and beef birria. Crispy Taco Al Pastor arrives with pineapple habanero salsa, while the Street Quesadilla with beef picadillo keeps things messy in the best way possible. For dessert, there is Maracuyá Jericalla, a passionfruit custard paired with margarita sorbet that lands somewhere between refreshing and dangerously addictive.

Meanwhile in Bali, Agave & Azul is taking a more easygoing but equally spirited route. The spotlight falls on the “Cuatro Amigos” taco selection featuring Al Pastor, Chorizo, Carne Asada, and Baja Fish, paired with Mezcal & Dulce de Leche ice cream from Vice and Ice. Guests can wash it all down with either Kulturale L.L stout or Amarillo beer while the taqueria’s tequila-fuelled energy does the rest.

The week-long celebration is designed around the kind of atmosphere MDA Restaurants has become known for — lively, indulgent, and impossible to do halfway. Think generous plates, drinks that keep coming, music in the background, and the kind of dinners that slowly turn into parties.

Carbón itself leans heavily into fire-forward Latin American cooking inspired by Mexico and Peru, bringing together heirloom corn, ají peppers, grilled meats, seafood, and slow-cooked barbacoa with a heavy emphasis on smoke and flame. Agave & Azul, on the other hand, keeps things raw, street-style, and tequila-driven, serving handmade tacos filled with everything from slow-braised meats to adventurous cuts rarely found around Bali.

Available for one week only, this is less of a polite dining affair and more of an excuse to gather your crew, order too much food, and let Cinco de Mayo unfold exactly the way it should: loud, smoky, and with tequila somewhere close by.
