Thai Warrior Therapy Comes to the Rainforest of Ubud

Wellness in Bali has a way of making you slow down, but sometimes the best reset is one that asks you to move. This August, Anantara Ubud Bali Resort invites guests to experience a different side of restorative wellness as Thai holistic practitioner Porjai Chaiwon, better known as Khun Sky, brings her signature Thai Warrior Therapy to Anantara Spa for a limited-time residency.
Rooted in one of Thailand’s oldest therapeutic traditions, Thai Warrior Therapy dates back to before the 13th century and combines therapeutic bodywork, mindful stretching and Ruesi Datton, the ancient practice also known as Thai Hermit Yoga. The result is a holistic treatment designed to restore strength and vitality while encouraging flexibility, circulation and renewed energy.

During the residency, guests can choose between two signature treatments, each designed around a different approach to releasing tension and restoring balance. The Thai Warrior Stretching Massage combines rhythmic compression, assisted stretching and therapeutic massage to ease tight muscles and improve mobility, making it an appealing choice for anyone whose body could use a little more space to breathe.

For a softer fusion of traditions, the Thai Asian Blend Massage brings together flowing kneading movements and therapeutic techniques, with particular attention to the neck, shoulders and back. Created with modern lifestyles in mind, the treatment is all about easing everyday tension while bringing the body and mind back into balance.

The setting makes the experience even more enticing. Tucked into the rainforest of Payangan, Anantara Spa offers a tranquil escape where traditional healing practices meet the natural surroundings of Ubud. Here, Khun Sky’s residency becomes more than a spa treatment—it is an opportunity to discover an authentic Thai wellness tradition while pressing pause on the pace of everyday life.
Available exclusively throughout August 2026, both treatments are priced at IDR 2,850,000++ for 60 minutes or IDR 3,450,000++ for 90 minutes per person. Advance reservations are essential.
