Vision for All in Jimbaran Brings Free Eye Screenings and Glasses to 1,000 Residents

On Thursday, 30 April 2026, by 7:30 AM., Wantilan Kuari at Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali was already alive with quiet anticipation as residents gathered for Vision for All, a community initiative centered on something simple yet deeply transformative: the ability to see clearly.

Led by Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali in collaboration with Lions Club International and Komunitas Goa Maria Kana, the program set out with a clear purpose—to provide eye screenings and prescription glasses for 1,000 people across Jimbaran. Marking the 22nd anniversary of the community group, the initiative brought together hospitality, local organizations, and volunteers in a shared effort to improve everyday wellbeing.

For many attendees, the day was more than just a health check. Some hadn’t had their eyes examined in years; others were only just realizing how much their vision had shifted over time. It was in these quiet discoveries that the true weight of the program began to settle.

General Manager Jan Kroeckel highlighted the power of collective action, noting how collaboration can translate into meaningful, tangible impact for local communities. That sentiment was echoed by Elly Halim of KGMK, who spoke to the ripple effect of better vision—how a simple pair of glasses can support a child’s learning, a parent’s productivity, and the overall quality of daily life.

From Lions Club International, Council Chairperson Yahya Yastputera reinforced a similar message: that access to proper eye care is not just a medical need, but a gateway to independence and dignity.

Adding a personal layer to the day was the presence of Victoria Titisari Kosasieputri, the newly crowned Puteri Indonesia Lingkungan 2026, who, as an eyeglasses user herself, connected easily with the beneficiaries. Her presence brought both relatability and encouragement, bridging advocacy with lived experience.

The initiative also saw support from Bali Hotel Association, Perhumas Bali, and Badung Health Agency, alongside representatives from Desa Jimbaran—an indication of how community wellbeing increasingly sits at the intersection of public and private collaboration.

As the day unfolded, the energy shifted from ceremonial to purposeful. Screenings were conducted in two batches, running steadily until late afternoon. Some participants left with glasses fitted immediately, while others with more specific prescriptions will receive theirs in the coming weeks, distributed across 13 banjar in Jimbaran.

Between the flow of activity, quieter moments stood out. A child adjusting their glasses for the first time. An elderly resident testing their vision with a tentative smile. Small gestures, but deeply human ones—each carrying a sense of relief, and perhaps even renewed confidence.

While participants also received goodie bags from supporting brands, what they carried home felt far more significant. Not just clearer sight, but a subtle shift in how they move through the world—more certain, more capable, and more connected to the possibilities ahead.

In a place like Bali, where wellness often takes center stage in curated spaces, Vision for All is a reminder that true wellbeing begins at the community level—quietly, collectively, and with lasting impact.
