ADITH’s FATIMAH Brings Eastern Memory to New York Fashion Week

Fashion moves quickly. Seasons change, trends come and go, and what feels new today can easily become yesterday’s news tomorrow. With FATIMAH, its Spring/Summer 2027 collection presented at New York Fashion Week, Indonesian label ADITH takes a different approach: slowing down and letting time become part of the design.

Presented in New York on 11 September 2026, FATIMAH marks ADITH’s first collection to explicitly bring a Muslim perspective and Eastern cultural roots to an international fashion stage. Rather than looking backwards, however, the collection considers how inherited values and traditions can be transformed for modern life without losing their soul.

A meditation on time

At the heart of FATIMAH is a simple idea: time does not truly erase things. It transforms them.

The collection takes inspiration from ageing textiles, changing surfaces and the patient work of artisans. Fabric becomes more than a material; it becomes a record of life, memory and human touch. Textures, layers and imperfections are embraced as part of the story, allowing each piece to feel less like a reproduction of the past and more like its continuation.

For ADITH, craftsmanship is not simply a technique. It is the trace that people leave behind in the things they create.

That philosophy gives FATIMAH a distinctly personal quality. Rather than attempting to preserve tradition exactly as it was, ADITH asks what happens when tradition is allowed to evolve — becoming something more contemporary, nuanced and relevant while retaining its original spirit.

From the East, with memory

The collection’s presentation at Radio Park in Rockefeller Center, Fifth Avenue, added another layer to its story. Held on 11 September, the choice of both date and location was deliberately meaningful, framing the collection around ideas of life, memory and humanity. Radio Park, a public space in the heart of Manhattan that has also appeared in popular culture including Spider-Man and Sex and the City, became the setting for a conversation about change — and how places, much like people, can evolve without losing their memories.

From there, FATIMAH carries a distinctly Eastern perspective into one of fashion’s biggest international cities. The collection brings together materials from The Paris Moda, with bags and shoes by PATRIS, creating a visual language where craftsmanship, materiality and contemporary sensibility meet.

For an Indonesian label, the moment represents more than simply bringing local fashion to New York. It is an assertion that creative talent from the East belongs on the global stage — and that cultural identity does not need to be frozen in time to be respected.

Tradition, reimagined

Perhaps that is what makes FATIMAH particularly timely. In an industry often driven by what is next, ADITH looks at what has already been carried forward — values, memories, techniques and cultural identity — and considers where they might go next.

The result is a collection about inheritance and transformation: what we receive, what we choose to change, and what we eventually leave behind.

In FATIMAH, time is not something to escape. It is something to wear.
