Row for R.O.L.E 5.0 Bali: A Purpose-Driven Movement Making Waves for Change

On 25 April 2026, a meaningful energy to give meaning took shape once again with Row for R.O.L.E 5.0, a purpose-driven journey that brought together community, coastline, and cause.

Stretching 13 kilometers from Hyatt Regency Bali to Grand Hyatt Bali, the route traced a familiar shoreline, but the intention behind it gave it new weight. Eighty-eight paddlers moved across the water—some solo, some in pairs, others on paddle boards—each stroke part of something larger than the race itself. By the time the final participants reached shore, the event had raised IDR 846,299,154, a collective effort that felt both tangible and quietly powerful.

At its core, Row for R.O.L.E has always been about “paddling with purpose.” It’s a phrase that lingers beyond the event, reflecting a wider movement led by the R.O.L.E Foundation to support vocational education, women’s empowerment, and environmental care across the island. In a country where many young women still face limited access to opportunity, the mission is not abstract—it’s deeply personal. It’s about creating pathways, building confidence, and offering the kind of support that changes not just one life, but many.

Through the Bali WISE program, that vision becomes real. Young women from across Indonesia are brought to Bali for six months of intensive training, where they learn not only hospitality and tourism skills, but also English, digital knowledge, and the confidence to step into new futures. The program covers everything from accommodation to daily needs, allowing participants to focus fully on growth. Over the past four years, more than 4 billion Rupiah has been raised, supporting nearly 400 women as they move toward independence and stability.

This year, the movement extended beyond the water. An online auction introduced another way to participate—offering curated experiences across Bali, from luxury stays to dining and wellness moments. It wasn’t just about bidding; it was about contributing, about recognizing that even small gestures can carry impact when they’re part of something collective.

Supported by Hyatt through its World of Care commitment, alongside Andaz Bali and its sister properties, Row for R.O.L.E continues to evolve without losing its essence. It remains grounded in a simple idea: that care, when put into action, can ripple outward in ways we don’t always see immediately.

And maybe that’s what stays with you. Not just the image of paddlers moving across open water, but the quiet understanding that change often begins like this—steady, collective, and guided by purpose.
